Welcome to Aladia! We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use Aladia’s websites, mobile applications, APIs, or related services (the “Services”).

When you register with Aladia, become an Aladia member, teach a course, enroll in a course, or engage with any Aladia-owned or operated platform, we may ask you for personal data. “Personal Data” refers to information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household. Additionally, we may collect data that is not identifiable to you or otherwise associated with you, such as aggregated data. This is not considered Personal Data. However, if this data is stored or associated with Personal Data, it will be treated as such.

Information You Provide to Us When You Sign Up for the Services, Update Your Account, or Use the Services

1. User Data & Identifiers

Personal data that we need to create your account and enable you to use our services. The specific types of information collected depend on the services you use, how you use them, and the information you choose to provide. This may include your name, alias, email address, postal or billing address, ZIP code, account name, phone number, social media profiles, or other similar identifiers.

2. Payment Information

If you sign up for a membership, free trial, or make purchases, we collect certain data about your purchase, such as your name, billing address, and ZIP code, as necessary to process your order and facilitate future transactions. However, all sensitive payment details (such as full credit card numbers) are handled by our payment service provider, and we do not store such sensitive cardholder data.

3. Instructor Payment Information

If you are an instructor on Aladia, you can provide your bank account details through our payment provider to receive payments. When linking your bank account, we collect necessary information, including your account name, bank name, and account number, to process payouts. In compliance with applicable laws, we may also work with trusted third parties to collect tax-related information, including residency details, tax identification numbers, and other legally required data.

4. Stored Card Information (Non-Sensitive Data)

Aladia does not collect card details directly. However, to facilitate transactions on our platform, we securely store non-sensitive card information received from our payment provider, such as the last four digits of your card and the expiration date. This data is used only to enhance payment processes and user experience.

2. How We Use the Personal Data We Collect About You

At Aladia, we are committed to using your personal data responsibly to provide, enhance, and personalize your experience with our platform. We may use the information we collect about you for a variety of purposes, including:

  • With Instructors: We may share your personal data (excluding your email address) with instructors to enhance the educational content you access or express interest in. This may include information such as your location, browser settings, and activity on Aladia, like enrolled courses or course reviews.
  • With Other Students and Instructors: Depending on your privacy settings, your profile, shared content (e.g., course reviews, discussions), and interactions with instructors or other students may be publicly visible.
  • With Service Providers and Contractors: We may share your data with third-party companies that provide services on our behalf, including payment processing, fraud prevention, customer support, data analysis, marketing, and email services. These companies are required to use your data solely to provide their services.

Even if you decide to close your account, we may still need to keep some of your data for legal or compliance purposes, such as for resolving disputes or fulfilling legal obligations.

7. Children’s Privacy

At Aladia, we take children's privacy seriously and encourage parents and guardians to be actively involved in their children's online activities. Our services are not intended for children who:

  • Are under the age of 13 years
  • Are below the minimum age required to process their personal data under applicable laws
  • Require parental consent to process their personal data

Our platform is primarily hosted on servers within the United States.
